Summary: As a Senior Purchasing Manager at Huda Beauty, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing strategic procurement initiatives, contributing to the optimization of the supply chain within the cosmetics manufacturing sector. Reporting to the Senior Director for Packaging Development and Global Sourcing, you will lead a team of purchasing professionals and drive key initiatives to enhance purchasing strategy, source to pay, ERP utilization, component and product lead times, production capacity, quality, and innovation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Packaging Development and Global Sourcing to develop impactful, trend-aligned purchasing strategies and optimize procurement policies.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of industrial processes within cosmetics manufacturing (Formula, Packaging, Label, Fill and Assembly).
Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, including product development, production planning, IT, and finance, to forecast procurement needs, ensure timely delivery, and manage inventory levels.
  • Actively communicate insights and recommendations derived from purchasing data analysis to management for informed decision-making.
Team Leadership:

  • Lead and mentor a team of buyer and purchasing professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluation.
  • Act as a project lead on various initiatives to ensure procurement goals are met.
Metrics and Analysis for Continuous Improvement:

  • Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
  • Conduct value and scenario analysis, benchmarking, and determine the quantity, production capacity and timing of deliveries in collaboration with the S&OP team.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to optimize costs, improve operational excellence, and enhance overall procurement effectiveness.
Supplier Management and Portfolio Optimization:

  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish long-term partnerships for optimal terms, service levels, forecast model agreements, and pricing.
  • Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations, address issues, and implement improvement plans to enhance quality and delivery performance.
  • Assess and optimize the supplier portfolio, considering factors such as cost, quality, geographical location, historical relationship with our company, and the strength of the partnership.
  • Consider the current spend with each supplier, ensuring alignment with the organization's strategic goals.
  • Implement data-driven evaluations to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the supplier network.
Global Sourcing Strategy:

  • Leverage in-depth experience in global sourcing strategies, considering international market dynamics and regulations.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive global sourcing strategies supporting the company's expansion goals
Regionalized Sourcing:

  • Develop and implement strategies to regionalize sourcing, ensuring a diversified and resilient supply chain.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Packaging Development and Global Sourcing to identify opportunities for regionalized sourcing, reducing lead times, and enhancing overall supply chain agility.
  • Conduct regular assessments of regional markets and supplier capabilities, making data-driven recommendations to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the supplier network.
  • Proactively identify and address potential risks associated with regionalized sourcing, implementing mitigation plans as needed.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to align regionalized sourcing strategies with broader organizational objectives, fostering a collaborative and strategic approach to procurement.
Negotiation Expertise:

  • Utilize advanced negotiation skills to craft complex agreements, including pricing structures, service levels, and contractual terms.
  • Secure optimal outcomes for the organization in long-term partnerships with suppliers.
Procurement Innovation:

  • Lead initiatives for procurement innovation, exploring new technologies, methodologies, and sustainable practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes to enhance efficiency and sustainability.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Establish strong collaboration channels with cross-functional teams, including Product Development, Packaging R&D, Marketing, and Operations.
  • Integrate procurement strategies seamlessly with product development, marketing initiatives, and operational requirements.
Strategic Risk Management:

  • Demonstrate advanced skills in strategic risk management, proactively addressing risks, supply chain disruptions, and regulatory changes.
  • Implement robust risk management strategies to secure procurement processes (Formula, Packaging, Label, Fill and Assembly).
Industry Regulations and Compliance:

  • Apply in-depth knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards.
  • Ensure strict adherence to industry-specific regulations, environmental sustainability standards, and ethical sourcing practices.

  • Master's degree in business administration, Supply Chain & Purchasing management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Purchasing Manager or in a similar procurement leadership role.
  • Extensive knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and market trends.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • High levels of intellectual capacity combined with empathy and emotional intelligence.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret and analyze purchasing data.
  • Proficiency in using procurement software and tools such as Microsoft Dynamic, Power Bi, Excel.
  • Ability to manage and lead a team effectively.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Solid negotiation and relationship-building skills with internal and external partners.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations, compliance standards, and ethical sourcing practices.
